It's Official!

The DCC is now officially registered with the state as a non-profit corporation. Some interested members met last Sunday to get paperwork started.

An interim board and elected interim officers based on those who were there on Sunday:
Thomas Betterton - President
Lyle Guthmiller - Treasurer
Ang Anderson - Secretery
Ryan Tuleja - Board Member
John Anderson - Board Member

Open elections at our next official meeting which will be at the end of January. If you are interested in this, please plan ahead to clear your calendars. If you have a preference for a week night that works best to meet, let me know and we will look at the majority response and change the night if we need to.

North Table Mountain Adopt-A-Crag

Yesterday, the Denver Climbers' Coalition, Access Fund, and Fixed Pin Publishing organized an Adopt-A-Crag at North Table Mountain in Golden.

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it yesterday! We had a great time and we were able to do some great work. We had a crew working to clean up trails and block a social trail, people eradicating evil spurge and other weeds, and the big project for the day . . . cleaning up the gully area between Little Ox and Industrial Buttress. If you were not there yesterday, be sure to take a look the next time you are at North Table. It looks awesome!

Fixed Pin Publishing guys (Jason and Ben) - great job organizing this and getting us all together. And the new guidebooks look awesome. For those that didn't hear, Fixed Pin has new guidebooks coming out for South Platte and North Table. As soon as they are ready, they will be for sale at Neptune Mountaineering and Bent Gate. Eventually REI and maybe some other shops will have them also.

Access Fund - thanks for coming down and helping out. It was fun meeting you and working with you and we can't wait to work with you more in the future.

Last but not least - thanks to Tony Bubb and Breckenridge Brewery for hooking us up with food and beverages. It provided a great finale to the day!

North Table Mountain Clean-up

We had a really great meeting of the Denver Climbers Coalition this month. Amy, our new Access Fund grassroots coordinator was there and provided us with some direction for moving forward. We missed all of you who couldn't make it!

Saturday November 15th we will be working with Fixed Pin Publishing and the Access Fund on a crag maintenance day for North Table Mountain in Golden. We will be working from 9 until 2 and get some climbing in afterwards. Fixed Pin will have some sample copies of some of their new guidebooks to preview. This will be a great opportunity to give back to the neighborhoods that support our climbing. Let me know if you think you can make it! Hope to see you then!
